$40,000 RAISED

 WOW! We reached our whopping goal of $40,000 in just under two months! We are floored and in awe of the generosity of all of you—thank you to every person who contributed! If you didn’t contribute and would still like to, we would still love your support. This number was an estimate of adoption costs, and we would love continued help in the upcoming years as we await being matched, travelling to Colombia, and coming home with our child(ren). We are so grateful for your generous gifts, but we’ve also loved hearing adoption stories and receiving your letters of encouragement as we go through this grueling process. We know that we are not alone in this journey, and this is huge for us.

We are still waiting on two final pieces of our dossier. These are estimated to get to us in the next month or two. As soon as these pieces arrive, our dossier is complete and will be sent to Colombia. At that time (March or April?), we could receive a match at any time. It is currently estimated that families with our requested age bracket could wait upwards of 18-24 months simply to be matched. So, we potentially have a very long journey ahead of us. Like I said, we appreciate your financial help, but we also appreciate your partnership and encouragement.

Please continue to pray for the child or children coming into our family. God knows the timing of our placement and we trust that even through the waiting his timing will be perfect for our family. Please pray for our peace as we navigate having a gigantic, life-changing event pending for the next several years. Adoption affects our work, where we live, our finances, and more which makes it difficult to know what next steps are in many areas. Also, please pray that these last documents would get here quickly without any more delays!

I say it repeatedly, but we are so thankful for you. This holiday season, as we celebrated the birth of our Savior, we were just in awe of how God has provided for us. We prayed what seemed a huge prayer—to raise all the money without having to fill out grants, put on bake sales, etc.—and that happened. AND it happened in less than two months during the holidays. Thank you for assuring us of God’s faithfulness and blessing and I hope that this is a testimony of his goodness to each of you.

We believe God places great value on orphans and children and that God loves people from all nations and cultures. Psalm 68:5-6 says that God sets the lonely in families and that He is a father to the fatherless. We believe God has placed this call on our lives and that this is an opportunity for us to honor Christ in our family. We are working with an organization called All God’s Children International that facilitates adoption and works in many ways to take care of children and families all over the world.
