Below is a copy of our support letter! 

Dear friends and family,    

We are excited to write to you about our adoption journey! We have always had a heart for adoption. We believe God places great value on orphans and children and that God loves people from all nations and cultures. Psalm 68:5-6 says that God sets the lonely in families and that He is a father to the fatherless. We believe God has placed this call on our lives and that this is an opportunity for us to honor Christ in our family.

We are working with an organization called All God’s Children International that facilitates adoption and works in many ways to take care of children and families all over the world. We are adopting through their international program in Colombia. Colombia alone has over 11,000 children waiting for adoption. We are not looking merely to grow our family but to serve a child or children by adopting them into a safe and loving family.

Adoption can be quite daunting. The process is predicted to take anywhere from six months to two years. We are looking to adopt up to two children that are younger than our youngest daughter who is currently three years old. We are remaining open about gender, race, and special needs of the child. We are confidently trusting God’s provision for the process and to ensure an amazing new addition to our family.

We believe that God is taking us on a journey that is going to amaze us. This is where you come in! We are excited to watch God move and teach us to trust Him more. We need lots of people to do this with us. We will be fundraising and applying for grants heavily over the next several months. The total cost of a Colombian adoption is anticipated to be about $35,000 plus travel costs. This could be more if we end up adopting more than one child. So, our goal is to raise about $40,000. We would love it if you partnered with us. Yes, we need substantial financial support, but we also want to include you in the ways God is moving through adoption and in Colombia.

The fact that you’re receiving this letter already means that you have shown us love and support and been a dear part of our lives. We are so thankful for your impact on our lives. Your ability to participate financially will not change this. You have shown us great support over the years, and we are so grateful for your love and friendship. We are excited to continue to share what God is doing in this adoption process with you in the years to come.

 WOW! We reached our whopping goal of $40,000 in just under two months! We are floored and in awe of the generosity of all of you—thank you to every person who contributed! If you didn’t contribute and would still like to, we would still love your support. This number was an estimate of adoption costs, and we would love continued help in the upcoming years as we await being matched, travelling to Colombia, and coming home with our child(ren). We are so grateful for your generous gifts, but we’ve also loved hearing adoption stories and receiving your letters of encouragement as we go through this grueling process.
