$40,000 RAISED

WOW! We reached our whopping goal of $40,000 in just under two months! We are floored and in awe of the generosity of all of you—thank you to every person who contributed! If you didn’t contribute and would still like to, we would still love your support. This number was an estimate of adoption costs, and we would love continued help in the upcoming years as we await being matched, travelling to Colombia, and coming home with our child(ren). We are so grateful for your generous gifts, but we’ve also loved hearing adoption stories and receiving your letters of encouragement as we go through this grueling process. We know that we are not alone in this journey, and this is huge for us. We are still waiting on two final pieces of our dossier. These are estimated to get to us in the next month or two. As soon as these pieces arrive, our dossier is complete and will be sent to Colombia. At that time (March or April?), we could receive a match at any time. It is currently estimated tha...

Almost halfway there!

Thank you to all who have supported us so far! We are almost halfway to our goal, and we are just amazed at what God is doing through each of you. Please know that every amount that has been sent has caused Sean and I to pause. We are not only overwhelmed by your generosity, but we are so blessed to have you in our life and supporting us in this endeavor. God has been so good to us and we are confident He will continue to reveal himself through all of the ups and downs of this journey. If you would still like to give, you still have time! We will continue until our goal is reached. Thank you to all who have given and to all who are praying and sending us support and love along the way. We submitted our USCIS immigration papers in mid-November. These take 2-4 months to get approved. The good thing is that in this time we are finishing up our dossier which is our family packet that gets sent to Colombia. So, at this point it is looking like we’ll have everything sent around the be...

Our Support Letter

Below is a copy of our support letter!  Dear friends and family,      We are excited to write to you about our adoption journey! We have always had a heart for adoption. We believe God places great value on orphans and children and that God loves people from all nations and cultures. Psalm 68:5-6 says that God sets the lonely in families and that He is a father to the fatherless. We believe God has placed this call on our lives and that this is an opportunity for us to honor Christ in our family. We are working with an organization called All God’s Children International that facilitates adoption and works in many ways to take care of children and families all over the world. We are adopting through their international program in Colombia. Colombia alone has over 11,000 children waiting for adoption. We are not looking merely to grow our family but to serve a child or children by adopting them into a safe and loving family. Adoption can be quite daunting. The pro...

Why are we adopting?

Thank you for visiting our adoption blog! We hope to use this space to keep all our friends and family up to date on our adoption process. As of October 19, 2022 our home study is officially approved! We ask for your prayer and support as we continue this journey. Below I’ve included some answers to frequently asked questions that can fill you in on how we've reached this point! Why are you adopting? We have both wanted to adopt for as long as we can remember. Since getting married this desire has only intensified. We have both committed our lives and our family to God. We feel that God places great value on orphans and children. Our moving to adopt is simply a form of obedience to a calling we believe He has placed on our family. Why are you adopting internationally? There are many reasons for our wanting to adopt internationally. First, as we've researched adoption in Washington over the last year, we’ve learned that adoption can only happen through foster care and th...
